Solo exhibition 'Soul States' - private view 20th March 2020, 5-7pm - CANCELLED

The paintings in this exhibition depict inner landscapes. Some of them have a distinct cosmic feel to them and express the soul’s dialogue with the cosmos and anything that may lie beyond it. There is an inherent unity of all things – tangible and intangible. Facing the infinite, we can tap into the source of being.
The paintings are inspired by a daily morning meditation. Désirée typically begins any creative process with a short meditation. In turn most of her paintings lend themselves very well to meditation and she has experimented with some of her paintings using them as meditation tools. As the meditative state during the making of the painting informs the end result – the physical painting, so can the physical painting have an impact on its environment and the people in it. Désirée firmly believes that if you focus on peace, you will get more inner peace and the more peaceful you are, the more peace you will spread and get back.

The private view will be 20th March 2020, 5-7pm.
